T-shirts go on sale to raise money for food needs in South Bend area during coronavirus crisis
SOUTH BEND — The city of South Bend is selling new T-shirts to raise money for the United Way of St. Joseph County’s COVID-19 Emergency Response Fund.
The city’s Venues, Parks & Arts division will give 100% of the proceeds from the sale of the $25 shirts to the fund, which will help people obtain food during the crisis. The shirts contain the phrase, “Side by Side,” serving “as a reminder that in this city, we’re always together even when we’re apart,” according to a statement from the SBVPA.
“Throughout this difficult time, we want to help make sure the most basic needs of our community continue to be met” said division Executive Director Aaron Perri. “This is an opportunity for those asking how to help while also using the platform to highlight how people are coming together.”
People can buy the shirts online at https://venues-parks-arts.myshopify.com/. To learn more about this and other efforts, social media users are encouraged to use the hashtag #SBSideBySide.
